WEGO ventured into Corpus Christi for the first time ever this year on their tour when they teamed up with Fabian “Candy Man” Villarreal of Rollerz Only. The response was astounding. This show had one of the largest lowrider turnouts in recent memory. Many of the hottest rides came out from South Texas to show strong for the tour. We even saw the Illegal Toys crew make the long drive out from Oklahoma City.
The hop was held the night before off of the premises of the American Bank Center. We saw several hoppers hit high on the 2x4 measuring stick that was being used. During the dance, things heated up as Hercules was pushed to its limits – catching fire inside the cab.
Back on the show date, Los Hometown Boys and La Conquista entertained the crowds of people in attendance. Latin music seems the be the way to go being that Corpus Christi is debatably the home of Tejano Music.
This was also the date for second challenge of WEGO's Stock to Stun Competition. Our five competing shops had to reveal the paint on their builds. The Leal Brothers of Corpus Christi took the top spot. It was not a huge surprise to most people as the Leal Brothers were expected to do well in this challenge.
StreetSeen Magazine model Iliana kept people visiting our booth throughout the day and it was no wonder why. She was hotter than the South Texas Sun Outdoors.
For a first time event on the tour, Corpus Christi showed a lot of promise. We can't wait to see what next year brings. Thanks for having us out guys!
