The largest outdoor show that we cover in Houston is the Texas Showdown at the Sam Houston Race Park. This Texas Heatwave event is their second largest on the tour. Normally it is also the hottest show of the year for us as well. This year, mother nature was kind to us, offering a breeze the entire weekend.

Like in years past, the best of the best came out to the show. Many show rides were on display. As with any Heatwave event, there is always a lot of events and contests for the participants and spectators in attendance. This year, DJ Twinky had 3 teams each cook an egg on the asphalt. The winning team had to display their "cooked" egg for the crowds on a plate.

The burnout and car hop contests rarely disappoint and this this year things heated up between the 210 Hardhitters from San Antonio and Shorty's Hydraulics of Houston. These competitors are fiercly serious about their sport.

The bikini contest is a staple in any Heatwave event, and this one was hot as ever with Whooty Kerri taking top prize. Quality events like the Texas Showdown are a big reason we're proud to call Houston home. See everyone at the next one!
